Richard and I go back a long way having worked together in both the NHS and the voluntary sector. We catch up for lunch every so often, catch up with all the gossip, and generally put the world to rights. Today was one of those occasions. I arrived early so that I would have time to sketch his house.
His, and Joanne’s, family home is in central Blackpool and has a wonderful quality of style about it. I don’t know when it was originally built but it was at a time of elegant building as witnessed by the cupola and turret.
This is the second time that I have drawn this scene, the original was a simple pencil sketch whereas this time it’s in pen and ink.
