Village green and duck pond, Wesham

This green is just around the corner from my house and has many happy memories of summer evening walks, feeding the ducks, and generally sitting and enoying the peace and quiet. It was formed on the site of an old dew pond and was incorporated into the Bowland Grange new estate that was built in the early 1990s. It won a Civic Conservation Award in 1993 for Good Design in the Environment.

The weather was overcast when I drew the sketch ands the trees were bare. I plan to paint it again in the summer when the sky is blue and the trees are in full leaf.
